You've found the crib (maybe one of ours?), the bedding, the toy storage bins, and the wall decor. The one thing missing? A gorgeous, eye-catching mobile that can calm and soothe baby through day and night. Here are six of our favorites:
Themis Trio 2, $66
Dreamy colors and angular shapes are a focal point for babies and adults, while the breezy swing and sway of this Clara von Zweigbergk-designed wire piece have a calming effect. Shop it at All Modern.
Numero 74 Star, $41
These oversized stars come in multiple colors and can be used over the crib in the early days or as room decor later on. Shop it on Smallable.
Fiona Walker England Feather Mobile, $99
If you're researching mobiles, Fiona Walker's name *will* come up. Organic lambswool pom poms and feathers twist and twirl all day (and night) long on this gorgeous handmade work of art. Shop it at Spearmintlove.com.
Eguchi Pelican Mobile, $175
Loving the primary color pops on nautral pine along with leather accents. Give it a small tug and watch him take flight and soothe baby off to sleep. Shop it on Maisonette.com.
Cam Cam Copenhagen Rainbow Mobile, $38
A handmade rainbow, clouds, and raindrops in organic cotton add soft texture to a modern aesthetic without being too baby. Shop it on Scandiborn.com.
Flenstad Hot Air Balloons Mobile, $24
Flensted mobiles are a classic, and these circular, sleek shapes are impossible to ignore...and the mood-lifting color combo is gender-neutral. Shop it on MoonPicnic.com.
The Felting Dorcas Monochrome Mobile, $52
Our own Bloom dad, Mark, chose this handmade piece for his son's nursery recently. Honestly, the monochrome color palette and light wood frame make it suitable for any room in the house. Shop it on Etsy.com.
Once you've found "the one," you have two options: hang it from the ceiling or from an arm. We've found the best one for our line of alma cribs is Pottery Barn Kids' version, which specifically fits our flat side railing. And believe it or not, setting up our no-tools-required alma is almost easier than hanging that mobile, as demonstrated by Mark:
